Despite the fact that you did not enroll in a pre-pharmacy path, a biochemistry degree should provide you with many of the necessary pre-requisites needed to gain entrance to pharmacy school. However, these requirements can vary by pharmacy school, so you would need to check with a specific institution in which you may have interest for its required coursework. Regardless to the education path taken prior to pharmacy school, four years of study is generally required after acceptance to pharmacy school to acquire a PharmD degree. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Web site is a good resource regarding pharmacy schools across the U.S. (www.aacp.org). Another site that could be helpful is that of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. It offers a program called the Pharmacy College Application Service (PharmCAS), a centralized application service for applicants applying to colleges and schools of pharmacy (Web address http://www.pharmcas.org). While not all schools of pharmacy use this central application, the number that does is growing. Good luck.
